In this installment of Pioneering Women of Civil War America ~ Mary (Ashton Rice) Livermore as hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Montgomery (UUFM) titled “Mary Livermore at UUFM Part 1,” we are treated to a personal perspective of the life of Mary Livermore, a 19-century abolitionist and suffragist. Uniquely, Reverend Paul Britner plays the role of a reporter, and he interviews a reenactor of Mary Livermore, who is dressed in period garb. This Part 1 segment is so captivating that the nine minutes pass by quickly, and it leaves you wanting for Part 2, which begins with Mary’s experience as a nurse during the Civil War. Even so, Parts 1 & 2 will surely whet your appetite for more about Mary Livermore, which you may find in My Author’s Blog: Pioneering Women of Civil War America (Twenty-Second Installment) subtitled “A Penchant for Journalism!”
