Here’s a wonderful educational short I found, written and directed by María Agui Carter, that features Loreta Janeta Velazquez A Civil War Woman Soldier and Spy for the Confederate States of America. There are many historical estimates that agree, that, between five hundred and one thousand Civil War Women disguised themselves to fight as men along their male counterparts for the Union and Confederate States of America.
