Here’s a short video produced by the Smithsonian Channel and narrated by Ashley Judd that singles out some Civil War Women And Their Secret Lives. During this tragic American conflict, there were women that chose to serve as soldiers alongside their male counterparts in combat. These women served in as many as 45 major engagements throughout the theatre of the American Civil War. Some were wounded, while some remained unscathed, while others gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the cause they supported.
